Barker Joinery is a family-run business established by Simon Barker, providing high-quality joinery, building and home improvement services throughout York and the surrounding areas.

Simon began his career in 1985 as an apprentice bench hand joiner and has since gained extensive experience across all aspects of joinery and construction while working for several well-established York-based companies. In 2005, he founded Barker Joinery with the aim of providing customers with skilled craftsmanship, reliable service and honest advice.

Today, Barker Joinery undertakes projects of every size, from fitting a single door to managing complete home renovations, extensions and bespoke joinery projects. Simon personally oversees every job, ensuring the same high standards of workmanship and customer service are maintained throughout.

Alongside Simon is a trusted team of experienced joiners, bricklayers, labourers, plasterers, electricians, plumbers, tilers and roofers. Many have worked with Barker Joinery for years, sharing the same commitment to quality, reliability and friendly service that the business has become known for.

We're also passionate about supporting the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Over the years, we've helped many apprentices develop their careers, providing hands-on training and experience. We continue to invest in our team by encouraging ongoing learning and supporting the development of new skills, ensuring we maintain the high standards of workmanship our customers expect. 

Over the years, we've built strong relationships with local builders' merchants, kitchen suppliers and other trusted manufacturers. This allows us to source quality materials at competitive prices and pass those savings on to our customers wherever possible.

As a home-based business, Barker Joinery has lower overheads than many larger companies, allowing us to offer competitive prices without ever compromising on the quality of our workmanship.
